Herbert Jeff, founder, was the author and former administrator of The Correspondence Course for Front-Line Supervisors, as well as author and publisher of two monthly training newsletters: The Front-Line Supervisor and The Sales Representative - both developed specifically for the Trucking Industry and continuously published for over thirty years.

Mr. Jeff developed and conducted hundreds of workshops for front-line supervisors and sales representatives throughout the United States and Canada.

He was employed in the trucking industry for twenty years, mostly with an LTL, long-haul carrier. Additionally, he worked for a private carrier, a freight forwarder and a tank carrier.

During his career in trucking he held a variety of positions which helped him empathize with supervisors and managers. These positions were:

Supervisor District Manager Director of Safety
Sales Representative Regional Vice President Supv. of Road Drivers
Asst. Terminal Manager V.P. of Transportation Dispatcher
Asst. Gen. Sales Mgr. Terminal Manager

As V.P. of Transportation he was responsible for the over-the-road operation, safety and union relations. He represented the company at union grievance hearings and was involved in negotiating several union contracts.

As Regional V.P. he was responsible for sales and operations in terminals located in NY, NJ. PA, OH, IN, IL, MI, KY and MO. In 1966 he resigned from Jack Cole Company to become a consultant. As a consultant he received assignments from many State Trucking Associations, as well as several National Associations. In addition to providing consulting and training services to many motor carriers in the U.S. and Canada, he also provided services to other modes of transportation, including several railroads, two airlines and one international water carrier.

Herbert Jeff believed his many years of experience made him better qualified to create training materials such as The Correspondence Course for Front-Line Supervisors.
